This is a copy of a quick questionnaire designed to give us a picture of what people would like to see at the hospital and indicate whether it is still their first preference to use Shotley Bridge if possible.
This questionnaire is being circulated to the citizen's panel so please fill this in if you are a member of the panel!

Sadly this is not an all singing, all dancing website that allows you to fill in the form on-line but you may be able to copy and paste your way around that and send it through to us if you want to add your input.
In any event I'm sure we will get a response from the members of the panel and we will publish the figures on the site as soon as the forms are returned. We will then send them through to the Primary Care Trust and the consultants.

At the moment the Primary Care Trust are looking to organise a consultation day with members of the public, the numbers will be limited to around forty but if anyone would wish to be considered to join in with this more in depth exercise please e-mail our office at k.earley@derwentside.gov.uk in the meantime we will try to contact members of the citizen's panel to see if they might be interested in joining the session.

I am disappointed that the questionnaire does not mention the ante natal/day assessment and early pregnancy services at Shotley Bridge. Do people realise what is available ?

I support Shotley Bridge Hospital & hope that decissions regarding the hospital increase services provided there & think that there should be a publicity drive to inform the public of what services can be accessed there currently.I hope in the future that as many services as possibe are made available to be treated at Shotleybridge as in the past.Durham is a long way to go for the people of derwentside & i think we had a much better hospital service when shotleybridge was running as a fully functioning hospital.I think services should be returned to shotley bridge.Obviously services have to be reviewed & modernised but i think the way forward is to return services to Shotley bridge as the current way with the majority of services at Durham is not working the way it should & the public are receiving an inadequate, inconvenient service.Being in hospital is always difficult & the distance to Durham from derwentside,to mention but 1 problem,& the reduction in services at Shotleybridge means that patients are suffering.Staying in hospital has for many become an ordeal which makes people avoid going for treatment because of the system currently in operation. Also the mixed sex wards situation needs to be looked at.
